Diana Lombard Interiors

December 10, 2020

I had the pleasure of working with Diana, an interior designer who started her own business Diana Lombard Interiors. She came to me in search of a new brand that was cohesive, professional, and would complement her beautiful interiors well. It was also important that whatever designs we came up with, that they would stand the tests of time. Remaining elegant, unique and timeless throughout the length of her career.

Inspiration

The first part of any branding project is collaborating together to create mood board that sets the tone for the future designs. We created a Pinterest board and saved imagery that was inspiring, motivating, and felt aligned with her current business…as well as where she wanted to take it.

Color Scheme

When it comes to creating a color scheme, it’s important to understand how it will be used throughout the client’s marketing materials. Whether that be their website or printed collateral.

In this particular project, we decided that black and white are the colors that will be used the most. Then filled the remaining slots of color with accent shades that can be used to brighten the corner of a website page or fade softly in the background of collateral.

Identity Design

Diana Lombard wanted an identity that was timeless, clean, and held interest. She also specifically asked to have a monogram as part of her logo design. So I set off to create just that. After a few drafts and feedback, we finally discovered her new identity!

Collateral Design

The last part of the branding process is working together on collateral. This can be a variety of things such as business cards, stationery, pricing guides, email signatures, etc.

We also created a very fun pattern that can be used in multiple colors.

Conclusion

I really enjoy working with Interior Designers, seeing as we seem to have very similar project methods. They have a good understanding of what they like visually (since they work with visuals daily), allowing for the flow of the project to progress quickly.

All in all, this was an enjoyable project with a very wonderful and talented interior designer. We created something chic, classic and timeless for her to use confidently in future projects.
