Gain More Visibility with Ideal Clients

January 20, 2021

In a sea of photographers what makes you stand out? First and foremost, we would say it’s your STYLE – the way you take photos and how you capture your subject. But that isn’t it. You still haven’t covered how you get your ideal clients to find you, notice you, and book you (beautiful photography aside). In other words, how do you gain more visibility with your ideal clients?

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

Everybody knows how important first impressions are. But not everybody knows that the “first impression” is actually only a seven second window upon first meeting someone. We believe this doesn’t just apply to a face-to-face meeting, but also digital-to-face encounters. Whether it’s the first time your client is seeing your Instagram, reading your captions, viewing your site, or seeing your logo in a wedding magazine, all of these moments create a first impression on potential clients.

Let’s go over all of these visibility opportunities:

  • A professional, unique, and complete brand that defines your visual identity and voice.
  • Well curated social media accounts that visually showcase your work and personality.
  • Well-designed marketing collateral that reflects your brand and impacts interactions with prospective clients.

In summary, a polished and complete brand creates a sense of professionalism which then creates trust. It also depicts a personalized style and reflects your uniqueness that in turn makes you more memorable. Making you memorable and trustworthy makes you more visible to prospective clients.

SEO

One of the heavy hitters when it comes to visibility is SEO. Some photographers will invest in an SEO professional to come in and do the work for them, but in all honesty there is a lot you can do yourself to continually boost up your ranking and search results.

  • Website Page Information
  • Name your photos correctly
  • Blogging & Pinterest
  • Keywords, Title, Alt Text

LOCATION

For photographers, location is important. A large amount of your client base will be local, aside from destination shoots. But even if you are a destination focused photographer, you still need to appeal to the people in those areas you want to shoot at. Here are some location focused tips to increase your visibility.

  • Effective SEO that leads to better search results.
  • Social media location tagging
  • Location based promoting and local collaborations.
