What are some of the best places to elope in Cali you wonder? Well, I asked the interwebs and then I asked actual elopement & travel photographers for their thoughts on it as well. What I ended up with is a wide variety of locations (some known well, some not so much) and the breathtaking photos that were taken there. So without further ado, here are those epic spots and the even more epic shots to go along with them.
Yosemite

“Yosemite National park is a photographers dream location for various reasons. I had the opportunity to photograph two beautiful elopements in this national park, and my favorite location I shot at was Taft Point. Hands down. The way the light poured throughout the valley and the sun hit my lens as it rose behind my clients was surreal. Something about saying ‘I do’ on the edge of a 3,000 ft cliff is so freaking epic. Yosemite is truly one of the most magical places.”

Big Pine

” It is a very long, but very much a worthwhile hike. It is one of the most gorgeous places I have ever been to, not only in California, but in my life. A hidden gem of a glacier lake sits in the middle of the mountains of Big Pine, CA (a small town that is nearby Mammoth Lakes), where the lake water is turquoise blue resting underneath a staggering peak called Temple Crag, and you would never guess something this beautiful would be there. I show the pictures to people and they always say they think it is Canada! The hike itself has waterfalls on the way, so although it is an uphill battle, it is stunning from beginning to end. This is the kind of place I would recommend for more experienced campers who want to elope. You can realistically make it a one day trip out and back as well, as we did! But if you can handle dispersed camping in a truly magnificent and intimate place, this would be your dream come true andI highly recommend it. The star gazing at night would also be something special here, since it is not close to any big cities and there is hardly any light pollution!”

Santa Cruz

“For beautiful redwood forests and you are right next to the beach as well! Best of both worlds in my opinion.”
